COUNTRYSIDE AT OUR CORE

Nestled on the edge of the Cotswold’s

With stunning views across the Marlborough Downs, and the ‘first town on the Thames’, if you are looking for tranquility in the perfect countryside setting, the Fritillary Spa should be your choice to take time out and lose yourself.

THE FRITILLARY FLOWER

With countryside at our core, there is no better place to enjoy some rural relaxation. Our location is home to the Fritillary flower, a special flower that only flowers for a short time each year. Fritillaries were first recorded growing in the wild in 1736, with some of the best-known fritillary fields along the flood meadows of the Thames. The Spa is proud to take its name from this memorable flower. It gives people the opportunity to experience a special Spa and contemporary space, in a unique and beautiful countryside setting.

Art within the Fritillary Spa

Along with the Fritillary flower, wildlife is important in our setting. In particular the Hare. The Hare has held a special place in the history of nearby Cirencester since Roman times, and the discovery of a Hare mosaic in 1971. There is now an annual March Hare festival, where dozens of brightly colored Hares appear in parks, shops, cafes and restaurants.

We felt it important also to work with a local artist and so commissioned a Wiltshire based, renowned wildlife artist, Ann Richmond, to reflect her thoughts on our Fritillary on the canvass within the spa lounge. Her artwork on wildlife, in particular the Hare, Fox and Badger, can also be seen in the spa.

OUR ETHOS

Our values are reflected with this. Our chosen partners for treatments have been selected for their environmental approach to wellbeing. Rich in natural-origin ingredients and free from silicones, parabens and animal derivatives, with unique application techniques and massages. The treatments harness the natural healing powers of the finest natural ingredients, purest extracts and essential oils.

A truly unique location, the Fritillary spa reflects its environment and surrounding countryside. It is committed to using local produce whenever possible and giving back to the community, whilst minimizing the environmental footprint and providing service in harmony with the countryside.
